Members and invitations

Albatross has no public sign-up: every account starts from an invitation. Everything on this page except leaving needs the workspace Admin role.

The Users page

Go to Settings > Users. Everyone in the workspace can see it. Pending invitations are listed alongside members; the Invited filter includes expired ones. API keys are not listed here.

Member statuses

StatusMeaning
ActiveAccepted and can use the workspace.
InactiveAccount deactivated. Contact your Terrabit account manager.
InvitedWaiting to be accepted. Hover the status to see when it expires.
Invitation ExpiredStays in the list until you resend or rescind it.

Invite people

  1. On the Users page, click Invite People.
  2. Enter up to 50 email addresses (press Enter or comma after each, or paste a list).
  3. Choose a Workspace role (default Member). See Roles and permissions.
  4. Optionally choose Teams. Each person is also added to each team's default projects.

Everyone in one invitation gets the same role and teams. Invitees appear straight away as Invited, and in the teams and projects they are being added to, but can do nothing until they accept. The email link is valid for 7 days.

Business email addresses only

An address at a personal email provider is refused. Addresses must be plain ASCII and cannot contain / \ { } % =.

warning

If one address in a batch is a personal address, the whole batch is refused and nobody is invited.

Addresses that are refused one at a time

An address already in the workspace, already invited (use Resend Invitation instead) or belonging to Terrabit staff is reported on its own, and the rest of the batch is still invited.

Set up an invitation before it is accepted

A pending invitation is an ordinary member row: change its workspace role on the user page, or add it to teams and projects as usual (see Add a member). No new invitation is needed, and it all applies the moment they accept.

Resend an invitation

Use Resend Invitation in the row menu (or Resend invitation on the user page). The person gets a new 7-day link and the old link stops working.

Rescind an invitation

Use Rescind Invitation in the row menu (or Remove from Workspace on the user page) and type their email address to confirm. The link stops working and their pending team and project memberships are removed. You can invite the address again at any time.

Change someone's workspace role

Open the person's user page (click their name on Users) and choose a new Workspace role. You cannot change your own role.

warning

Changing someone to Viewer sets every project role they hold to Viewer, including projects they have left. Changing them back does not restore their old project roles: a project Manager or Admin has to set them again.

The user page also lists their teams and projects under Memberships; change those on the team's or project's page. Non-Admins see only the projects they are in themselves.

Remove someone from the workspace

Use Remove from Workspace on the user page (or Remove User in the row menu) and type their email address to confirm. They lose access straight away and their team and project memberships, roles included, are deleted. To bring them back, invite them again and re-add them to teams and projects.

Leave a workspace

Anyone except the last Admin can use Leave Workspace in their own row menu or on their user page. You leave every project and team; anything you created stays. You need a new invitation to rejoin.

Last Admin protection

A workspace must keep at least one Admin who has accepted their invitation. Albatross refuses to demote, remove or let leave the last one: make someone else an Admin first. A pending Admin invitation does not count.

What the invitee receives

The email names who invited them, the workspace and any teams. They get the role, teams and projects set up for the invitation at the moment they accept. See Accept an invitation.

Albatross sends no other notification for invitations, and none for role or team changes.
