Teams

A team is a named group of people. It owns nothing and grants no access itself: its only effect is its default projects, which add people to projects when they join the team.

How teams work

  • Default projects add people at the project's role. Someone who joins the team is added to each default project at that project's Role on arrival.
  • Existing memberships are never changed. Someone already in a default project keeps their role.
  • Leaving a project is respected. A team default never puts someone back into a project they left or were removed from.
  • The memberships are the person's. Removing someone from a team, removing a default project or deleting the team leaves everyone in the projects they are in, at the same role.

Find a team

Go to Settings > Teams and click a team name.

Create a team

On the Teams page, click Create Team. Names are unique in the workspace, up to 60 characters; the logo is optional (JPEG or PNG, up to 2 MB).

Add and remove team members

On the team's page, click Add Member. You can add pending invitees. They are added to every default project straight away. You can also choose teams when you invite people.

To remove someone, use Remove from Team in their row menu. To take them out of a project too, remove them on the project's page.

Default projects

Add a default project

On the team's page, under Default projects, click Add project. The list shows only projects you can manage.

Everyone in the team, pending invitees included, is added straight away at the project's Role on arrival, and anyone who joins later is added too. Adding the team on the project's Add Member dialog does the same.

Remove a default project

Click the X on the project's badge under Default projects. New team members are no longer added to it.

Delete a team

Use the trash icon on the team's page (or Delete Team in the row menu) and type the team name. This removes the team, its member list and its default projects only. It cannot be undone.
