Billing accounts, credits and payment
Billing lives in the Billing group of Settings: Tile Usage, Credits and Billing Accounts.

Billing accounts
A billing account holds the company, address, contact and payment terms an order is billed to. Every new order starts with the workspace's default account, and an order cannot be submitted without one. A new workspace has none, so an Admin must create one before anyone can submit an order.
You can change an order's billing account on the Review & Submit step or the approval document. See Submit and approve an order.
Create a billing account
Go to Settings > Billing Accounts and select Create Account. The first account becomes the default.
- Billing Account Name must be unique in the workspace, deleted accounts included.
- Contact Email is where invoices should go. Terrabit invoices outside Albatross, which sends nothing to this address.
- Payment Terms default to Net 14. Net 30 or Net 60 need approval from your Terrabit account manager.
- Purchase Order Required tells your account manager orders need a PO. It does not stop an order being placed.
Set the default billing account
Select the radio icon in the Default column, or Set as default billing account on the account's page. Existing orders keep their account.
Delete a billing account
Select Delete account in the row menu, or Delete billing account on the account's page. You cannot delete the default: set another default first.
Deleting cannot be undone. The account can no longer be chosen for an order, orders already using it are unchanged and its name stays taken.
Credits
Credits are prepaid deposits Terrabit adds to your workspace. An order paid with Credit draws on one deposit. Find them under Settings > Credits.
Your balance
The panel shows the available balance and a Credit Usage bar of what is spent and held, for All Credits or one deposit you select. A chip warns as it runs down:
| Chip | Shown when |
|---|---|
| Limited | At least 75% is spent or held. |
| Low | At least 90% is spent or held. |
| Fully used | Nothing is left available. |
A single deposit that expires within 14 days with money left shows how many days remain.
Credit deposits
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The deposit can be used. |
| Expired | Its expiry date passed before it was fully used. It can no longer pay for an order. |
| Consumed | The whole deposit has been used. |
Deposit activity
View Details on a deposit opens its Activity timeline, with the balance after each entry.
| Entry | What it records |
|---|---|
| Deposit Added | Terrabit added the deposit. |
| Held | Funds reserved for a deliverable. |
| Released | A reservation freed, for example when a deliverable is cancelled. |
| Spend | A deliverable was invoiced and its held amount spent. |
| Refund | An invoice was removed and the amount returned. |
| Adjustment | A manual correction by Terrabit. |
| Credit Expired | The deposit expired. |
How an order uses credit
- An approver chooses Credit on the approval document and picks a deposit.
- The order can be approved only if that deposit has not expired and its available balance covers the order total.
- Once approved, each deliverable's price is held on the deposit until invoiced, and is not available to other orders.
- Invoicing turns the hold into a Spend. Cancelling the deliverable Releases it.
Payment methods
A project Approver or Manager chooses Credit, Direct Invoice or Purchase Order per order when approving. See Payment methods. Terrabit decides which are offered: see Features enabled for your workspace.
Tile usage
Settings > Tile Usage shows map tiles loaded by your API keys, by day and by key, against your monthly quota. Tiles viewed in the web app are never counted. See Tiles API metering.
Features enabled for your workspace
Terrabit switches optional features on or off; contact your account manager to change one. No page lists them: you see them by what appears in the app.
| Feature | On a new workspace | When it is off |
|---|---|---|
| Map tiles (WMTS) | Off | API keys cannot be created or load tiles, and Connect to GIS is missing from the Data Catalog. Maps in the web app still work. See API keys. |
| Control data uploads | Off | Control Data is missing from the sidebar and new uploads are refused. |
| Credit payment | On | Credit is not offered. |
| Direct Invoice payment | On | Direct Invoice is not offered. |
| Purchase Order payment | On | Purchase Order is not offered. |
Prices and invoices
Albatross shows order prices but does not issue invoices or record payments. Ask your Terrabit account manager about invoices, credit, tile overage or payment terms.
