Data formats

A data format is a named delivery specification: file formats, coordinate reference system and vertical datum.

What a data format contains

SettingOptions
Analysis-Ready Data (ARD)COG (LZW), GeoTIFF, ER Mapper BIL or Custom
Contrast Enhanced (Visual)COG (LZW), COG (JPEG), ECW, JPEG2000, GeoTIFF or Custom
Datum / ProjectionGDA2020 / MGA, GDA94 / MGA, WGS84 / UTM, WGS84 / Geographic, WGS84 / Web Mercator or Custom
Vertical Datum (DEM)Height above MSL (EGM2008), Height above MSL (EGM96), Ellipsoidal height, AHD height or Custom

A format includes ARD, Contrast Enhanced or both. A Custom file format takes a description (Terrabit will contact you to confirm it); a Custom datum takes an EPSG code from 1024 to 32766.

The Standard format

Every workspace starts with Standard as the default: COG (LZW) for both ARD and Contrast Enhanced, WGS84 / UTM and Height above MSL (EGM2008). You can edit it or make another format the default.

Choose a format for an order

One format applies to every deliverable in an order. It starts as the workspace default and can be changed under Order details on Review & Submit, or by an approver under Order Configuration on the approval page. After approval, contact your Terrabit account manager to change it.

Changing the default affects only new orders. Editing a format changes it for every order that uses it.

Manage data formats

Go to Settings > Data Formats. Everyone can view formats; only a workspace Admin can create, edit, delete or set the default.

  • Set the default: click the circle in the Default column. New orders start with this format.
  • Delete a format: the default cannot be deleted, so make another the default first. Orders already using it are unchanged, its name stays taken and deleting cannot be undone.

Locked formats

A format Terrabit has set up for your workspace shows a Locked badge. You can use it and make it the default, but not edit or delete it; contact your Terrabit account manager to change it.
