Creating Orders
Orders are how you request satellite products in Albatross. This guide covers the complete order workflow from creation to delivery.
Understanding Orders
An order in Albatross:
- Contains one or more deliverables (the actual imagery products)
- Follows an approval workflow before processing
- Is associated with a billing account and uses team credits
- Has a specified data format for delivered files
Order Pipeline Types
Albatross offers two order pipelines:
Premium Pipeline
- Includes a feasibility review by Terrabit staff
- Technical experts assess if your requirements can be met and recommend suitable changes if needed
- Recommended for complex or large orders
- Workflow: Draft → Feasibility Review → Team Approval → Active
Rush Pipeline
- Expedited processing without feasibility review
- Faster turnaround for straightforward orders
- Requires you to be aware of satellite technology and deliverables.
- Workflow: Draft → Team Approval → Active
Creating an Order
Prerequisites
To create orders, you need:
- A Team member with "Can manage orders" permission
- At least one area in the portal
- Available credit balance (Added by Terrabit from PO, payment agreement e.g Credit Card)
- A billing account configured
Step-by-Step Order Creation
- Navigate to Orders in the sidebar
- Click Create Order
- Fill in the order details:
- Team - Select the team for this order
- Order Name - A descriptive name
- Pipeline - Choose Premium or Rush
- Billing Account - Select from available accounts
- Data Format - Choose your delivery format
- Notes (optional) - Additional instructions or context
- Click Create
Your order is now in Draft status.
Adding Deliverables
Deliverables are the individual imagery products within your order.
Adding a Deliverable
- Open your draft order
- Click Add Deliverable
- Specify:
- Area - Select from your team's areas
- Category - Imagery, DEM (elevation data) or SAR
- Collection Type:
- Archive - Existing satellite imagery
- Tasking - New satellite capture
- Additional specifications as needed
- Save the deliverable

Viewing Pricing
As you add deliverables:
- Estimated pricing appears based on your selections
- Total order cost updates automatically
- Verify sufficient credits before submitting
Editing Orders
Orders can only be edited while in Draft status.
Editing Order Details
- Open the draft order
- Click Edit
- Modify:
- Order name
- Billing account
- Data format
- Notes
- Save changes
Editing Deliverables
- Open the draft order
- Find the deliverable to edit
- Click on it to open details
- Make your changes
- Save
Removing Deliverables
- Open the draft order
- Find the deliverable to remove
- Click Remove or the delete icon
- Confirm removal
Submitting Orders
When your order is complete and ready for processing:
- Review all deliverables and details
- Verify pricing and credit availability
- Click Submit Order
- Confirm the submission
What Happens After Submission
Premium Orders:
- Order moves to Pending Feasibility Review
- Terrabit staff reviews your request
- If feasible, moves to Pending Team Approval
- This is for your team to apprive. If not suitable the order can be Rejected with explanation
Rush Orders:
- Order moves directly to Pending Team Approval
- (If you have approval permission, it may auto-approve to Active)
Order Approval
Orders require team approval before processing begins.
Approving Orders
If you have "Can approve team orders" permission:
- Navigate to Orders
- Filter by Pending Team Approval status
- Open the order to review
- Click Approve Order
- Confirm approval
The order moves to Active status and processing begins.
Rejecting Orders
If an order should not proceed:
- Open the pending order
- Click Reject Order
- Provide a reason for rejection
- Confirm
Rejected orders can be reviewed by the creator for revision.
Cancelling Orders
You can cancel orders that haven't been completed.
Cancelling a Draft Order
- Open the draft order
- Click Cancel Order or Delete
- Confirm
Cancelling an Active Order
- Open the active order
- Click Cancel Order
- Provide a reason for cancellation
- Confirm
Cancelling an active order may still incur charges for caotures or data already ordered/complete.

Tracking Orders
Order List View
The Orders page shows:
- All orders for the selected team
- Status filters (tabs for each status)
- Order metrics (counts by status)
- Credit budget summary
Order Details View
Click an order to see:
- Order information
- All deliverables and their statuses
- Map view of deliverable areas
- Delivery progress
Best Practices
Planning Orders
- Define all areas first - Have your locations ready
- Check credit balance - Ensure sufficient funds
- Choose the right pipeline - Premium for Terrabit high quality and accurate data, Rush for rapid delivery with standard formats
Order Management
- Use descriptive names - Include project or date info
- Group related deliverables - Combine related areas in one order
- Add notes - Document special requirements for the Terrabit team
Review Process
- Review before submitting - Double-check all deliverables and pricing
- Monitor pending orders - Check for approval or rejection
- Follow up on rejections - Review feedback from Terrabit team and revise if needed
Troubleshooting Orders
Can't Create Order
- Verify you have "Can manage orders" permission
- Check that areas exist for your team
- Ensure a billing account is configured
Insufficient Credits
- Check your team's credit balance
- Contact your administrator for more credits
- Reduce order scope if needed
Order Rejected
- Review the rejection reason
- Address the issues identified
- Create a new order with corrections
Deliverable Missing from Order
- Ensure the deliverable was saved
- Refresh the page
- Check if the area still exists
