Getting Started with Albatross
This guide will help you get up and running with Albatross, Terrabit's geospatial data management platform.
Prerequisites
Before you begin using Albatross, you'll need:
- An Albatross Account - Contact Terrabit or receive an invitation from your organisation
- Workspace Access - Be added to at least one workspace by your internal administrator or from the Terrabit team
- Modern Web Browser - Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge (latest versions recommended)
- Stable Internet Connection - Required for map viewing and file downloads
Understanding Albatross Structure
Albatross is organized into a hierarchical structure:
Workspaces
A workspace represents your organisation or company. It contains:
- Multiple Teams
- Billing accounts
- Data format configurations
- User permissions
Teams
Teams are groups within a workspace that collaborate on orders. Each team has:
- Team members with specific permissions
- Credit allocations for ordering
- Ability to map and manage areas of interest (AOIs)
- Track active orders and delivery progress
Areas
Areas are geographic locations that you may require imagery or satellite products over. They can be:
- Points (specific coordinates)
- Polygons (boundary regions)
- Organized into area groups
Orders
Orders are requests for satellite imagery products that go through an approval workflow before being fulfilled.
